Skin Care Routine 2015

First and foremost, huge shout out to my amazing partner Shannon for purchasing me the Clarisonic Mia2 (RRP $190) for Christmas this year! I’ve been so in love with it, and since my last one broke about 8 months ago (!) and was out of warranty, I’ve been pining for a new one. I’ve really felt an amazing difference in my skin, and while it is still in the purging stage (yup – this is the bad stuff) and I’ve been sprouting new, annoying little whiteheads, my pores are clearer, tighter and my skin feels overall healthier. I’ve been using it once or twice a week after removing makeup with a pre-cleanser.

I’ve been using up the Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser that came along with my Mia2, and it’s enjoyable, although I think I prefer other gel cleansers, like People for Plants,  Dermalogica, La Roche Posay and many others. It has a slightly citrus scent, and gets the job done well enough for the time being.

Next I’ve been absolutely loving LUSH Mask of Magnaminty (RRP $15.95), and I think this is a mask that I will repurchase in the larger size as soon as I run out! There is a reason this always goes out of stock on the LUSH website. It incorporates an amazing, uplifting mint mask with the added bonus of a light scrub when you wash it away. It reminds me of Dr Roebuck POLISH in that sense, but has a much smaller price tag.

Next, I spray on the Alpha-H Moisture Boosting Facial Mist (RRP $23.78) with Witch Hazel, which has not only been cooling me down, but also helping to zap my teensy white heads that I have popping up at the moment from THE PURGE. One of the more expensive spray toners I’ve tried, but it’s definitely more zap-tastic than the others I’ve tried.

On a day when I am out and about, instead of cooped up at my desk, I always try to wear a moisturiser with SPF. The Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser (RRP $46.60) has SPF 50+, and doesn’t have that sunscreen feeling greasiness, or any sunscreen scent at all! It works well underneath my makeup as well, and doesn’t make it oxidise.

However, on days when I am inside, I have been loving to use The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream (RRP $20.95). This gel-like moisturiser was an old favourite of mine that I picked up for nostalgia purposes. I love the fresh scent, it makes my skin super smooth and almost acts as a primer in and of itself! It also moisturisers my dryer areas of skin (forehead!) and reduces excess sebum on my nose and chin. Wins all round!
