I am probably the millionth (nope, I’m not exaggerating) beauty blogger to write about French brand La Roche-Posay. The Effaclar range of La Roche-Posay is well suited to oily, sensitive skin. Finally there is a company that recognises that having oily skin doesn’t mean we want to strip our skin of all moisture.
Effaclar Foaming Gel* – RRP $19.95
It eliminates impurities and excess sebum leaving the skin clear and refreshed. – La Roche-Posay
This cleanser is super gentle without being a useless product for people with problem skin. It’s soap-free, colorant-free, alcohol-free and paraben-free. Phew!
It has a lovely, clean scent and foams into a great lather. I use this cleanser both on it’s own, and also with my Clarisonic.
The packaging is fairly standard in a squeeze tube. Hey, if it ain’t broke 😉
At only $19.95 at Terry White Chemists in Australia, it’s easy to see why this is taking Australia by storm. Drugstore prices for a higher end skin care range (or at least it feels like it!) is likely the reason.
Effaclar Duo* – RRP $25.95
Eliminates severe skin imperfections. Unclogs pores.
Also known as the Beauty Blogger holy grail. For good reason! This treatment is gentle enough to use as a makeup base, while still zapping nasties quick smart. As with all La Roche-Posay products, it is fully paraben-free and alcohol-free. It makes sense to not put irritants on irritated skin…yes?
The gel has four active ingredients to pinpoint certain issues we can have with irritated skin. For severe, localised imperfections are targeted by Niacinamide and Piroctone Olamine, to fight against bacteria.
For clogged pores, the combination of LGA and Linoleic Acid cleans out sebum and elimates accumulated dead skin cells. Lastly, it is topped off with soothing thermal spring water to reduce redness.
Thermal Spring Water – RRP $8.95
It might seem odd to buy condensed water for almost ten dollars.. but this is a life saver at the gym (heh, see how I threw that in there, shoot me). Super soothing, super hydrating, and just what the doctor ordered. This always gets thrown into my beach bag for long hot days on the sand.
Have you tried any of La Roche-Posay products?
