Microdermabrasion – My Experience!

After trying Cosmetic Injectables earlier this year, I thought it was high time to cross another beauty treatment off my try list. Next up is a treatment much less scary than injecting things in your face (I promise). Microdermabrasion!

It may be quite alarming to you to think that someone who claims to be somewhat of a beauty blogger had never tried Microdermabrasion. I am one of those people that always balks at the idea of treating myself, especially when it comes to treatments. Not convinced? Guess how long it’s been since I’ve had a haircut. Last Christmas. Yup. Proof enough?

In any case, when I was approached by Laser Clinics Australia to try out their Cleansing Microdermabrasion Treatment, I was intrigued. I’d heard a lot about microdermabrasion over the years, and the benefits it provides, but didn’t do a great deal of research into how it is actually done.

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure with no down time afterwards (making it perfect pre-event!). The treatment removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, and can reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scarring, superficial pigmentation and any build up of dead skin (think around your nose).

microdermabrasionTo me, the procedure was actually super relaxing. After removing my makeup and cleansing my skin, my technician Jasmine got to work. A wand-like instrument is traced over the skin, and reminds me of the suction thing they use at the dentist. After ten minutes of the treatment, she applied a chemical exfoliant mask to ensure that all the superficial dead skin cells were taken care of.

The entire procedure only took 20 minutes, so it’s perfect for those short on free time. If you opt for their Express Treatment it can be as little as 10 minutes! So quick!

Have you tried Microdermabrasion?

You look great after your procedure. I have the PMD that you use at home, everytime I do a session, I have wefts left on my skin and i’m using the sensitive nozzle. Then they scab for 3 to 4 days then disappear. I’ve watched a dozen videos and i’m doing it right, I just have sensitive skin but the results are always fabulous, i’m 57 and everyone tells me I look 10yrs younger.

Oh I didn’t realise that could be an issue! I haven’t had any issues after this treatment, but I’ll keep an eye out to make sure it doesn’t happen. Haha I felt so much better afterwards, so clean! 🙂

I’m definitely going back for round two! I love how there is no down time 🙂

Oh I want to try this so much! I also have trouble justifying beauty treatments as they’re the cost of a product but for only a one time use.

I really want to try mircodermabrasion I always hear about it but I am the same as you and never really treat myself to this type of thing. My goal at the moment is to try and bring my skin back up to scratch and look after it a bit more so I think I may have to go book in for one of these.

I’ve never tried anything like this but I would love to try lip or under eye fillers and a skin resurfacing at some point! Its good to know that the microdermabrasion isn’t uncomfortable though. it makes me more willing to try it.
