5 Clay Masks for Every Skin Type

I think the first face mask I ever used was a Ten-O-Six Clay Mask! In any case, there are so many different clay masks on the market for different skin types. As someone with combination skin, I often use a few of these, sometimes a few at a time.

Of these clay masks, a few are more suited to oily, acne prone skin. The three masks that are suited to this skin type are the Garnier Pure Active 3-in1 Charcoal Mask (RRP $11.95), LÓreal Pure Clay Mask: Purifying & Mattifying Eucalyptus (RRP $19.99) and Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask (RRP $31.95).

The Garnier Charcoal Mask is actually a 3-in1, while also offering a cleanser and scrub. However, I prefer this product for it’s mask properties only. It also boasts a fresh mint-ish scent.

The LÓreal Pure Clay Mask: Purifying & Mattifying Eucalyptus is a favourite of the trio of LÓreal masks available. The eucalyptus provides a lovely scent, as well as the oil’s antiseptic properties as well. Let me know if you’d like to have a full review on all three LÓreal masks.

Lastly for oily or acne prone skin, the Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask not only contains the kaolin clay, but also healing rosehip and evening primrose. This addition makes this clay mask, though with zit zapping powers, but also hydrating and nourishing for the skin. Those with oily skin shouldn’t shy away from hydration or oil.

The Premium Spa Face & Body Mask (RRP $14.99) is advertised to be great for combination skin, and white kaolin clay is perfect for dry and sensitive skin particularly. It has additions of rosehip and chamomile, both calming and hydrating oils to aid dry and sensitive skin types. I like using this one all over, or when my face feels particularly tight or in need of some TLC.

Lastly, a new face mask for me is the Harvest Garden Zeolite & Pink Clay Facial Masque (RRP $30.00), a powdered mask that you add a liquid of your choice to. Pink Clay is perfect for combination skin, and with extracts of pomegranate and passionflower, it’s chock-full of antioxidants. The passionflower is also excellent at eliminating fungi on the surface of the skin (sorry for that visual!) The perfect mask to balance and refine the skin. The I like using coconut oil as the carrier oil to mix the powder with.

What is your favourite clay mask?
